Because Genetic Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency/Congenital Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency is a rare disorder, many patients and caregivers do not have the opportunity to speak with other patients and caregivers. To address this need for community and support, QOL Medical offers Peer Coaches, other parents or caregivers who are caring for a child with Genetic Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency or other adult patients, who may be a resource to other patients. The diagnosis of Genetic Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency may bring up many emotions and questions. Having an experienced patient/caregiver to speak with can be extremely valuable to patients. Peer Coaches are an important component of SucraidASSIST™ (Access and Support Services in Sucraid Therapy), QOL Medical’s comprehensive patient support program. Peer coaches offer the following support services:

  • Provide empathy & psychosocial support from an experienced patient/ caregiver perspective
  • Share tips on coping & daily living with a diagnosis of Genetic Sucrase-Isomaltase Deficiency
  • Introduce patients & caregivers to online support communities
  • Direct patients & caregivers to credible disease information & resources, such as
